On Friday 2nd July 2021 the KCOCA welcomed back to the College the Peer Year groups of 2003, 2004 and 2005 to celebrate their 20 Year on Reunion. This reunion was only our second reunion held at the College since 2019, due to 2020 being a year without reunions, and it was a particularly special and unique event in that we had three neighbouring peer years attending. Special thanks goes to our reunion peer year liaisons who assisted us with the event planning and also spent time contacting people from their peer years in order to spread the word: 2003 - Jullion Nelson Parker and Lucinda East Kennedy 2004 - Travis Lehman and Alex Dawson 2005 - Cam Maclachlan and Fiona Roydhouse It was a great night that began in town with many people meeting at a bar before heading out to the College on the train. On arrival at the College attendees headed to our beautiful King's College Memorial Chapel for an evening service led by Rev Gareth Walters, the Peer groups had chosen their hymns in advance, 'Guide me, Oh though Great Redeemer' and 'Lord of the Dance', and gave robust renditions of both. Following the chapel service reunion attendees moved to the Student Dining Hall for drinks and canapes where some very entertaining speeches ensued and thanks are given to Sheldon Eden-Whaitiri for stepping up and being the impromptu MC for the evening. Later that evening buses escorted many of the attendees back into town for an after party at a well known bar in the viaduct. Photos from the night can be found here. 20 Year On photos. |
