In addition to the celebrations in Auckland we were happy to collaborate with Auckland Grammar for the recent Rugby in The Park for all our London-based Old Collegians. This inaugural event, which we hope will become an annual summer day out, was a family-friendly gathering held in Bishops Park, on Sunday 3 July. It included an Old Rivals touch rugby game, BYO picnic, sponsored Kiwi pies and drinks, and some fun family activities, followed by a screening of the 2022 King’s vs Grammar 1st XV rugby game at the local Parsons Green pub The Kings Arms. I am pleased to announce that we won the touch rugby game by quite a healthy margin with a final score of 13-3. A big thanks goes to the team in London; our King’s Captain, Henry Wakefield (Greenbank, 2006-10); AGS Captain, Jeremy Leonard (AGS ’87); and Louise Parkin, UK Advancement for AGS, who initiated and drove the organisation of this event on the ground in the UK. |
