This August we were to delighted to see Samantha Holdsworth (Middlemore 1993/94) receive an Honors Tie from the College for her work and research in the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI). After graduating King's, Samantha achieved a Bachelor of Physics from Canterbury University and a Masters and PhD in Medical Physics and Radiology from Brisbane University. Samantha then went on to spend 11 years working at Stamford University in the US as a postdoctoral fellow and senior scientist in their Radiological Sciences Laboratory. Her work has been groundbreaking of which you can read more on in our Autumn 2021 Kings Courier Magazine. Now back home in New Zealand, Samantha works for the Matai Medical Research Institute in Gisborne, the focus of her work being on imagery of the brain and the effects of brain trauma, methamphetamine addiction and the correlation between heart and brain health.
